ProxyTags is a service that lets businesses (the "merchants") offer a loyalty program with no app required, activated by an NFC tap or QR scan. This policy explains what information we collect depending on whether you're a visitor to our site, a merchant using ProxyTags, or a customer of a merchant who uses ProxyTags.

Website visitors (proxytags.com)

When you reserve your spot or contact us through this site, we collect your business name (if applicable) and your email address, for the sole purpose of contacting you about ProxyTags. This information is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes. This site does not use any third-party analytics tools or advertising tracking cookies.

Retention: contact information collected through the reservation form is kept until you become a merchant customer or ask us to delete it.

Merchants (ProxyTags customers)

If you sign your business up for ProxyTags, we collect the information needed to manage your account and subscription: your business contact details, and billing and payment information. Payments are processed directly by our payment processor — ProxyTags never stores your card data.

This information is used solely to operate your merchant account (dashboard access, billing, support) and to send you service-related communications. It is never sold or shared for advertising purposes.

Your customers — the loyalty program users

Once your business is signed up, the ProxyTags app identifies customers who tap or scan your tag by their email address, with their explicit consent given once, in accordance with Quebec's Law 25. This consent allows us to retrieve their loyalty account and send them service-related communications.

A cookie tied to this identity is kept on the customer's device so they don't have to identify themselves again on every visit, whether at your business or at other participating merchants. This cookie is not an advertising tracking tool — it's used only to recognize an already-consented loyalty account.

Your rights

Whether you're a website visitor, a merchant, or a merchant's customer, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information we hold about you at any time by contacting us through the Contact page.

Retention

• Contact information collected through the site's reservation form: kept until you become a merchant customer or ask us to delete it.
• Merchant account information: kept for the duration of the subscription, then for the periods required for accounting and legal purposes.
• A merchant's customer information (loyalty program): kept as long as the loyalty account exists, or until a deletion request is made.
